Addie V. Palmer

 

Funeral Service for Addie Verner Palmer will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, December 14, 2013 at Mt Olive SDA Church in Hemingway SC. Interment will follow in the Mt Olive Cemetery.

Addie Verner Palmer, affectionately known as “Tulu”, departed this life on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Addie was the oldest of ten children born to the late Mack Roy and Frances Verner. Three siblings, Lee Edward Verner, Stanley Verner and Johnny Turner, preceded her to the grave.

 

Addie grew up in the Pleasant Hill Community of Georgetown County where she began attending Walkers’ Chapel Freewill Baptist Church at an early age. As an adult, she later joined Mt. Olive Seventh-day Adventist Church and became a baptized member. She attended faithfully until medical reasons hindered her attendance. Addie was a jovial, fun loving, kind person who truly loved the Lord.

 

She graduated from Choppee High School in 1970, and she married Albert Palmer on May 25, 1988. Addie was an excellent cook and utilized her expertise in food service. She was last employed as a cook at Foster’s Residential Care. Addie loved to cook or bake special dishes or treats for her nieces, nephews and other family members.

 

Addie will forever be fondly remembered by her caregiver, cousin and best friend:  Elerine “Sis. Rena” Taylor of Hemingway, SC; three sisters:

Maxine Verner, Joyce Verner and Cynthia Verner all of Hemingway, SC; four brothers:  Mack Roy Verner, Jr. (Lucy) of Hemingway, SC, Richard Verner (Pam) of Pawleys Island, SC, John Verner (Brenda) of Hemingway, SC, and Michael Verner (Rose) of Bamburg, SC; two special cousins: Irene Walker & Alfetenia Gainey of Hemingway, SC; four sisters-in-law: Diane Verner, Jessie Mae Hilton (James), Gracie Linnen (Thaddeus), and Juliet Palmer; two brothers-in-law: Larry Palmer and Robert Scott, Jr.; mother-in-law, Mary Palmer; siblings: Sandra Ladson, Roxie Greene, and Bernard Turner, six aunts, eight uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
